I HAD A BLAST GROOVING WITH HONEY SINGH: PRACHI MISHRA

Former Miss India Prachi Mishra, who makes her debut in Japinder Kaur Baweja's Zaalim Dilli, was in news recently for shooting a song with renowned British Punjabi rapper and music producer Honey Singh. Called 'Baby ka hai birthday bash', Prachi had a blast while filming this song. In an informal chat with TOI, Prachi talks about her role in the movie, future projects and her take on the controversies surrounding Honey Singh...

Q) The news that you were shooting a song with noted British Punjabi rapper Honey Singh went viral in no time. How was the experience?
A) I am glad to know that this news went viral and has got overwhelming response. I was looking forward to the song with Honey Singh and the shoot went really well. I had a blast grooving with Honey Singh. He made me feel very comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised to know the other side of his 'yo yo 'image. He is a great person at heart and it is fun to be with him.

Q) What is the genre of the song? Will you be seen shaking a leg with him?
A) I think Honey has built his own genre. Every song of his only gets better and better and groovier. He is singing this song for me on my birthday, saying "baby ka hai birthday bash." There is a lot happening in the video and I enjoyed myself thoroughly dancing with him.

Q) Honey Singh was recently criticised for penning songs that are vulgar and are demeaning women. Your comments?
A) I think everybody is being criticised some or the other way. All I know is that the nation is grooving to his tracks and so am I. He is a very sweet and knowledgeable person to work with.

Q) What is your role in Zaalim Dilli? How did you prepare for the role?
A) I play the role of a glamorous girl who works in a not so glamorous place. The character, Sakshi, is a young, modern and independent woman who is loved by all the guys. I didn't have to prepare much as it was a very realistic role, something that all girls can relate to.

Q) What are your future plans/ projects?
A) My future plans includes more movies, Miss India commitments and a lot more! There are few scripts that I am going through right now and if everything goes well then Inshallah I will be seen in many more movies.
