The morning of February 12, 2014 was filled with excitement and anxiety for the top 10 finalists of Veet Be The Diva season 3 that was held at Kitty Su, the Lalit, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The anticipation at the event was no less than that at Miss India or Miss World.
When the emcee introduced the star studded jury, the audience was left in awe, especially when the gorgeous Nargis Fakhri walked the ramp in an angelic white dress. The other star jury members were Nitish Kapoor (G.M India, Reckitt Benckiser) and Anindita Ghosh (Delhi Features Editor, Femina).
The contest had two rounds, after which it was decided who deserves to be the next face of Femina. First round was the introduction round when all ten divas walked the ramp in their pretty white dresses and gave their introductions one by one. Second round was the question and answer round where the judges asked these young and gorgeous ladies some very interesting questions. The young divas were no less, they completely lived up to the crowd’s expectations by giving some brilliant answers.
When Nargis asked Rishita “What would come first for you – family or career?”, Rishita, second runner up of Veet Be the Diva, answered instantly, “Family is more important because broken careers can be mended, not broken hearts”. Shree Radhe, the winner and the new face of Femina, was asked the definition of attitude by Nargis Fakhri and her answer was as beautiful as her. She said, “Combination of beauty and confidence. It’s what you think about yourself”.
Finally the three well-deserved winners of Veet Be the Diva Season 3 were announced and they were - Rishita (second runner up), Shefali (first runner up) and Shree Radhe (winner), who chinned up and took their walk of fame after. Shree Radhe, the only contestant from Allahabad, who was crowned by the most gorgeous diva herself - Nargis Fakhri, says that she knew she will get one crown at least, she just didn’t know it would be the winning crown. For her, entering this competition and shifting out from Allahabad is a dream come true.
The media asked Nargis her idea of being a diva and she said, “Everything starts from inside or within and shines outwards”. This contest was not only about the front cover picture of Femina but it was a lot more. After the even at the Lalit, the ten contestants, six super-models that included Indrani Dasgupta, and Nargis Fakhri departed for the walk of confidence that ended at Red Fort in Old Delhi.
The gorgeous divas were dressed in pink and white and they all had one motive in mind, to set an example for all the gorgeous ladies in this country who are sometimes scared to show their beauty to the world. They took a metro from Patel Chowk till Chandni Chowk and from there; there were beautiful pink rickshaw rides to Red Fort decorated to celebrate their feminine selves.
It was Nargis’s first metro ride and she enjoyed it like there was no tomorrow. When Nargis was asked who she would want to share her rickshaw ride with, she said she’ll squeeze in Ileana D’ Cruz, who is another gorgeous and confident diva. After all, it is all about girls for girls forever, which this event exhibited phenomenally.
These glamorous, confident and inspiring divas coloured the city pink with their awe-inspiring thoughts and beauty with the walk of confidence.
